Atlético Juvenil win 2-4 at Stuttgart to aim for top-6

Pedro Moya’s side banked 7 points from 9 and now eye the top-6 after a thrilling Youth League clash at Stadion auf der Waldau.

Atlético de Madrid’s Juvenil team beat Stuttgart 2-4 at Stadion auf der Waldau, collecting seven points from nine and putting Pedro Moya’s side within reach of the Youth League top-6.

The match began with a warning sign for the rojiblancos: in the ninth minute, they earned a penalty after Taufik was fouled. Gabri Obama took it, but Stuttgart goalkeeper Waltz saved. Five minutes later, the pressure told as Joel fed the forward to make it 0-1.

Stuttgart hit back with a penalty in the 19th minute, converted by Redzepi to level. Just before half-time, Gabri Obama struck again after another Joel involvement to make it 1-2.

After the break, substitutions included Gross coming on, and later Saúl and Guillermo Trujillano replacing Gabri Obama and Fitzgerald. Trujillano scored to extend the lead to 1-3, but it got tense when Redzepi converted another penalty five minutes later.

Atlético shut the door in stoppage time: Saúl was brought down inside the box after a double chance, and Gross made no mistake from the spot with his left foot for the final 2-4, keeping the Juvenil A in the top zone.
