Atlético Mineiro are through to the Copa Sudamericana final for the second straight year: despite losing 2-0 to Montevideo City Torque this Wednesday, they held on thanks to their 3-goal advantage from the first leg and will face Boca Juniors on November 21 in Barranquilla, as Mundo Deportivo reports.

The return at the Centenario in Montevideo turned tense for Eduardo Domínguez’s side. Kevin Silva opened the scoring in the 89th minute and Gary Kagelmacher sealed it in stoppage time (93’), but Montevideo City Torque couldn’t force a comeback.

Atlético Mineiro also have a score to settle: last year they fell in the penalty shootout against Lanús after drawing 0-0 in regulation. To make matters tougher, they played the late stages with ten men after Ecuadorian full-back Alan Franco was sent off.
