Atlético reveal the XI to face Stuttgart in the Champions League

Simeone starts Grimaldo, Llorente and Julián Álvarez at the MHPArena: Atlético have 3 points, Stuttgart 6.

Atlético de Madrid have named their XI to face VfB Stuttgart at the MHPArena in the third matchday of the Champions League league phase. Los colchoneros arrive with three points, while the Germans sit on six, thanks to wins in their previous games.

Diego Simeone makes changes due to the absences of Koke and Cuti Romero and brings in players who didn’t start on Saturday at the RCDE Stadium. The starting line-up is Oblak; Llorente, Pubill, Hancko, Grimaldo; Giuliano, Barrios, Hjulmand, Baena; Julián Alvarez and Jonathan David. The bench includes Lookman, Kang-in Lee, Cardoso, Mendoza and Sorloth.

For Stuttgart, Hoeness springs a surprise by leaving out Demirovic, the team’s top scorer in this Champions League with four goals in two matchdays. Their XI: Seimen; Hendriks, Vagnoman, Stiller, Mittelstädt, Führich, El Khannouss, Leweling, Prömel, Chabot and Undav. Mundo Deportivo also notes that Atlético will be backed by more than a thousand supporters in the stadium.
