Aymeric Laporte missed Vallecas and Terzic explained why
Terzic said in Lezama: Laporte returned from international duty, wasn’t at 100% and went through a recovery plan before training normally.
Aymeric Laporte was not ready to play at full capacity for the match at Vallecas and therefore missed the squad list last Friday, as Terzic explained at Lezama. The Frenchman had just finished an international spell, where he played three of the four matches.
After returning from the national team
Terzic said Laporte came back from the selection, trained once on Friday, and told the staff he still wasn’t prepared to be available for the game. The coach then arranged for him to rest and follow preventive work. This week Laporte was only with the group in parts, but today he completed the full session, so he is set to be available for tomorrow’s trip to Mestalla against Valencia.
Terzic also pointed out that Laporte hadn’t trained with the team for nearly a month, though both he and Unai Simón have been competing in matches. The Real Sociedad are also adjusting workload for the coming week.
