Barça asks to move the Barça–Arsenal match due to the 11 Nov strike
FC Barcelona is pressing UEFA to bring the Women’s Champions League game from Nov 11 to Nov 10 to avoid disruption from a general strike.
FC Barcelona has asked UEFA to change the date of the Women’s Champions League clash Barça–Arsenal for matchday four, originally set for 11 November, because of a general strike called for that day.
The club requested that it be played on Tuesday 10, but is still waiting for UEFA’s reply. Barcelona’s reasoning is that if the match stayed on Thursday 12, the build-up—official press conferences and Arsenal’s game at the stadium—would also be hit, particularly due to mobility problems.
The Barça squad arrives as group leader with two wins from the first two rounds and two points clear of Arsenal. The fixture is scheduled for the Spotify Camp Nou. The alternative relies on whether Arsenal can move its league match from Saturday at Anfield; if not, Thursday 12 would be used, although the pre-match activities would still be affected by the strike, as reported by Mundo Deportivo.
