Barça gives green light to Ohana and Babylon Park deals

FC Barcelona’s assembly approved two sponsorship agreements this Saturday—one with Ohana Development and one with Babylon Park—explained in detail by the club’s economic vice president Ferran Olivé, according to Mundo Deportivo. The votes passed with clear majorities, although support differed between the two deals.

For the Ohana agreement, the results were 308 in favour (69.53%) and 103 against (23.25%), with 32 blank ballots (7.22%) and 10 abstentions. The Babylon Park deal received 252 votes for (57.15%) and 158 against (35.82%), plus 31 blanks (7.03%) and 10 abstentions. Mundo Deportivo notes that this time—unlike the Espai Barça financing vote—there was no requirement for a two-thirds majority.

The first partnership gives Ohana Development a 30-year licence (until 2055) to develop the ‘FC Barcelona Residences’ real estate complex in the Gulf. The company also becomes a Global Partner until 2030 and will sponsor the back of the shirts of the men’s and women’s first teams for three seasons (from 2027-28 to 2029-30) in national competitions and friendlies.

Sponsorship and entertainment hub

While the full amount was not disclosed due to confidentiality, Olivé said the deal will bring €10 million per year (€30 million total). He described it as “the best sponsorship in Europe” for that shirt location and stressed that the club assumes no cost or financial risk, as Mundo Deportivo reports.

On the other front, the assembly also backed a 25-year concession to Babylon Park to install a 900 m² family and interactive entertainment centre near the Barça Café at the Spotify Camp Nou. The club estimates around €100 million in total revenue: 20% of turnover in the first five years and 50% from the sixth year onward, with a minimum guaranteed of €1 million per year during the initial five-year period and €2 million annually afterwards.

Mundo Deportivo adds that President Joan Laporta underlined that Babylon Park complies strictly with human-rights requirements, verified by the club’s compliance department. With both approvals, the Barça board aims to strengthen recurring income and energise the Espai Barça year-round.
