The Tuesday slate set the pace: Barcelona fought back in Istanbul against Galatasaray and finished with a 1-4 win, Atletico Madrid beat Manchester United 2-0, and Villarreal overcame Napoli 3-1.
Wednesday seals the perfect run
On Wednesday, the bar was raised again. Real Madrid overturned Roma at the Olympic Stadium after falling 0-2, winning 3-4, while Real Betis staged a comeback versus Porto at La Cartuja to secure a 3-2 victory.
The previous example of this kind of Spanish dominance dates back to 2019, when there were four wins rather than five.
