Bayern stumble at Augsburg: 2-2, Neuer’s blunder and four goals ruled out
The Bavarian derby finished 2-2 at the WWK Arena: the Bundesliga’s fastest goal (8 seconds) and four disallowed Bayern strikes.
Bayern München dropped points against FC Augsburg and the Bavarian derby ended 2-2 at the WWK Arena. The match swung early after a Manuel Neuer mistake gifted the Bundesliga’s fastest goal: Robin Fellhauer scored at eight seconds—and Bayern also had four goals disallowed.
As Mundo Deportivo reports, the goal erased the previous benchmark: Kevin Volland’s nine-second strike for Hoffenheim in August 2015 vs Bayern, and Karim Bellarabi’s nine-second header for Bayer Leverkusen in August 2023 vs Borussia Dortmund.
A kickoff error set it up: Luis Díaz passed back to Neuer, the goalkeeper fluffed his attempted clearance, and Fellhauer punished it. Augsburg then threatened repeatedly before Bayern found their way back—Luis Díaz’s brilliant overhead kick was ruled out for offside in the 50th minute. Ismael Saibari equalised in the 75th minute with a right-footed finish from Harry Kane, who was named Man of the Match.
Augsburg still led again through Ribeiro, but Bayern pressed late: two more Bayern goals were chalked off before Nathaniel Brown levelled the game at 2-2.
