Bayern triggers a €250m lever as Viessmann takes 6.7% stake
Viessmann Generations Group puts €250m into Bayern for a 6.7% stake and a new seat on the board.
Bayern München has activated a capital injection worth €250 million through Viessmann Generations Group, which takes a 6.7% shareholding, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The move follows the existence of that remaining 6.7% as of Thursday morning. The Munich-based company, active worldwide in heating and air-conditioning systems, has now acquired the stake.
VGG joins Bayern’s other private shareholders. Adidas put in €77m back in 2002, Audi added €90m in 2010, and Allianz contributed €110m in 2014 while also lending its name to the Allianz Arena.
Even with only 6.7%, the deal includes Max Viessmann entering the club’s Supervisory Board, made up of ten members. Bayern and the company have had a commercial agreement since 2018.
