Bordalás delays decision on Carvajal until tomorrow

José Bordalás spoke this Sunday ahead of Getafe’s trip to Rayo Vallecano on Monday, calling the clash “decisive” for the start of LaLiga. The coach from Alicante also left Dani Carvajal (Getafe) in doubt: “I won’t make the decision until tomorrow.” He said the player has been working “phenomenally” and is ready like the rest of the squad.

Bordalás stressed the team has had a rest after playing on Thursday, and pointed to the reality of injuries and the condensed schedule: “No excuses.” On the opponent, he avoided commenting on off-pitch issues and focused on football, saying the Rayo have kept their core and still have fast, well-equipped players despite the change of coach. Beñat San José added that the team’s potential remains high, while Jadon Sancho asked for attention on Monday rather than talk of signings.
