Borja Jiménez: last Al-Ahli match in Qatar before taking over Cádiz
Celades was sacked on Monday. Jiménez must finish his Al-Ahli game in Qatar and has up to two days to face Ceuta.
Cádiz are already lining up a new coach after the dismissal of Albert Celades. The man to take over is Borja Jiménez, who must first lead his final match with Al-Ahli in Qatar. His exit is tied to playing this Thursday against Al-Gharafa (18:45), after which he will travel to Cádiz to join the team.
As MARCA reports, the verbal agreement with Jiménez was advanced on Monday, but by Wednesday there was still no official announcement and he hadn’t taken charge. While the club waited, Mario Fuentes, from the sporting leadership, handled training sessions.
Waiting for Ceuta
Jiménez’s window is extremely tight: he will have at most two days before Cádiz host AD Ceuta FC. In the meantime, Jesús Casas has also entered the picture. He was seen with Cádiz officials and appeared at the El Rosal training ground this week, but Radio MARCA Cádiz frames it as talks rather than an immediate takeover.
