Borussia Dortmund asks players to shower at hotel over Legionella risk
After beating Sabah FC 2-1 in Baku, Dortmund told players to shower at the hotel, not the stadium, following Bild’s alert.
Borussia Dortmund took an unusual step over a potential Legionella risk after winning in Baku on Tuesday against Sabah FC (2-1). As Bild reports, club management instructed the players to return straight to the bus after the match and shower at the hotel rather than in the stadium.
Once the game ended, the team headed directly to the changing arrangements at their accommodation to follow the internal safety instructions, prompted by fears about contamination in the showers at the Sabah FC venue. L'Équipe notes the decision.
