Bruno Genesio and Marseille: no big rotation vs Olympiacos (21:00)

Marseille coach Bruno Genesio said he doesn’t plan to rotate much for the Europa League match against Olympiacos on Thursday at 21:00, after OM beat Troyes 0-2 on Sunday. In a press conference, he stressed that “at Marseille you don’t change a team that wins”, especially after a run of five straight defeats.

Continuity in Europe

Genesio linked his selection to several factors: current form, the condition of players carrying minor issues, and the match situation. He added that “a large part of the players who were on the pitch vs Troyes will be there at kick-off.”

Missing Cornelius and Højbjerg

OM also need a strong start to their European campaign after the opening loss to Beşiktaş (4-1). Genesio wants a second positive result to build confidence and connect this game with Sunday’s trip to Angers (15:00). For Thursday, he’ll be without Derek Cornelius and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg; the Dane is “doing better”, and they’re optimistic.
