Bruno Genesio spots issues as OM head to Angers
OM bounced back with a 2-0 win over Troyes but lost 0-1 to Olympiacos; Sunday’s trip to Angers kicks off at 15:00.
Bruno Genesio and OM face Sunday’s trip to Angers (15:00) after a 2-0 win over Troyes in Ligue 1 and a 0-1 defeat to Olympiacos in the Europa League midweek. In Saturday’s press conference, Genesio said he has identified issues in his squad and that things will change from Thursday’s match.
He explained that players rested for that game will start at Angers and that “everyone is available”, with a watch on Hojbjerg. Genesio also stressed that the staff reviewed the match the next day with video analysis, highlighting set pieces: he said OM lacked “commitment” in both penalty areas—especially on corners and dead-ball situations—and didn’t convert enough of their chances.
Mental edge to find
Genesio linked part of the problem to stress and handling failure, and suggested mental preparation can help only if it’s an individual, voluntary process. He expects more space against an Angers team that plays and risks to build play, unlike Troyes.
