Bruno Iribarne called up to Spain U-21 for European qualifiers
MARCA reports that Burgos CF goalkeeper Bruno Iribarne has been selected by David Gordo for three U-21 European Championship qualifying matches.
Bruno Iribarne is set to return to Spain’s U-21 squad. As MARCA explains, the Burgos CF goalkeeper has been called up by David Gordo for the next three matches of the European Championship qualifiers scheduled for the coming international break.
Three European qualifiers
The Spain group includes games against Finland, San Marino, and Romania, with the team facing those fixtures consecutively during the break.
Iribarne already has experience wearing the Spain shirt: last October he played a few minutes in a friendly against Norway U-21. This time, the call-up is official and marks another step in his international pathway.
What it means for Burgos
The selection directly affects Burgos plans. According to MARCA, Sergio Francisco will not be able to use Iribarne for the match vs Eldense on September 26 at El Plantío, nor for the trip to Almería on October 3.
Iribarne will return to Burgos on October 7 to rejoin training with the blanquinegro squad, leaving the club to manage the position for the two league games.
