Cádiz hit first win in style: 4-0 vs Leganés at JP Financial
Albert Celades’ side won 4-0 with goals from Antonio Cordero, Vladys and Moueffek; Leganés remain mid-table.
Cádiz kicked off their season in style with their first win: they beat Leganés 4-0 at JP Financial. Led by Albert Celades, the home side controlled the match from start to finish. After ending a run with a 1-1 draw in Tenerife, Cádiz moved provisionally out of the relegation spots while Leganés suffered their second straight defeat.
The breakthrough came early: in the 5th minute, Vladys Kopotum played in Antonio Cordero, on loan from Newcastle, who finished low past Luca Zidane. Leganés barely threatened until late in the first half, when Álvaro Morata forced a big save from Cádiz captain and goalkeeper David Gil with ten minutes remaining before the break.
Results that decide it
After the restart, Vladys again set the tone and made it 2-0 in the 54th minute from a corner after clearing the first touch and firing in. Even with four changes, Leganés couldn’t stop the hosts: Antoñito Cordero scored for 3-0 in the 71st minute, and Aimen Moueffek added the fourth in the 83rd minute. The score didn’t change after that.
Goals: 1-0 (5', Cordero), 2-0 (54', Vladys), 3-0 (71', Cordero), 4-0 (83', Moueffek), per Mundo Deportivo. The match featured 14,272 spectators and was refereed by Alejandro Morilla (Comité Navarro).
