Cádiz suspend training after a staff member suffers cardiac arrest
First-team were playing a warm-up against their farm team when a staff member suffered a cardiac arrest; training is halted.
Cádiz have suspended training this Thursday after a staff member suffered a cardiac arrest while the first team were playing a mini-match against their affiliate, Cádiz Mirandilla.
The club, as reported by MARCA, said the person has recovered thanks to the quick action of the team’s medical staff. In its statement, Cádiz sent “all its encouragement” and wished him “a speedy recovery”, without releasing his identity or any further information about how he is progressing.
Incident during match prep
The session was part of preparations for Sunday’s game against Ceuta. The incident forced the club to call off all planned activity. At the time, training was led by Mario Fuentes, who has been in charge on a temporary basis since Albert Celades was dismissed, pending the arrival of Borja Jiménez.
The post has also sparked messages of support from other clubs, including Córdoba, Leganés and Real Valladolid.
