Carl Starfelt (Celta) sidelined ~six weeks with hamstring tendon tear
The Celta defender suffered a hamstring tendon fibrillar tear in his right leg and will begin treatment expected to last about six weeks.
Carl Starfelt, of Celta, is set to miss around six weeks after sustaining a fibrillar tear involving the tendon in his right thigh. A scan, according to MARCA, showed the injury in the semimembranosus’ myotendinous area with damage to the proximal tendon.
The defender returned to Vigo after leaving Sweden’s camp because of discomfort at the back of his right leg. He was affected during the match vs Bosnia and Herzegovina, being substituted in the 31st minute.
Starfelt also missed the final stretch of last season due to a hernia, and Celta had been managing his workload at the start of this campaign. Now he begins the treatment to recover.
