Carl Starfelt’s Celta status in doubt after Bosnia injury
The Sweden defender picked up the problem against Bosnia and the club will use imaging to assess the damage on arrival in Vigo.
Celta is waiting for Carl Starfelt to arrive in Vigo to determine the extent of the muscle injury he sustained while playing for Sweden against Bosnia. The centre-back asked to be replaced at the half-hour mark, after reaching for a cross and grabbing the back of his thigh, and he was replaced shortly after by Eric Smith.
As Mundo Deportivo reports, club sources told EFE that it is a muscle injury, though the exact severity will only be confirmed after imaging tests.
Starfelt will be the second Celta player to return early due to injury: Uruguay’s Sebastián Cáceres also left the national team camp with a pubis issue.
