Carlota Chacón ruled out after anterior cruciate rupture at Real Sociedad

Real Sociedad have confirmed that Carlota Chacón has ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in her right knee. The injury occurred after she was forced off with a problem during a Women’s Europe Cup match in Scotland against Hearts last Wednesday.

The club broke the news on Friday afternoon once it received the medical test reports. Chacón is set to be operated in the coming days, and the prognosis is that she will very likely miss the entire season.

For the next games, Real will have to deal with the absence of a player who was starting to emerge with the first team, and they return to Zubieta to face a Real that now arrives with several setbacks.
