Michael Carrick has pushed back on the speculation about his future as Manchester United manager, insisting—per Sky Sports—that it is “not on his radar”. He also played down the club’s recent dip in form, saying their current issues are far from a “catastrophe” or “disaster.”

Noise, but no panic

The backdrop is uncomfortable. Shortly after a controversial 1-0 home defeat to rivals Manchester City, United were knocked out of the Carabao Cup: they lost 3-2 to Brighton at Old Trafford after surrendering a two-goal lead.
