Castellón stall their momentum with nine absences vs Ceuta
Castellón aimed for a sixth straight win, but were held by Ceuta after up to nine missing players and lost top spot.
Castellón saw their winning run hit a wall against AD Ceuta FC after arriving with nine players unavailable, a result that cost them top spot. The albinegros were chasing a sixth consecutive victory to stay first, but Ceuta fought back for a draw and even had chances to win at SkyFi Castalia.
With so many absences, Federico Ceccherini made his debut in the starting XI and David Nzanza came on in the second half. Álvaro García also started for the first time, after joining in last winter’s transfer window.
Next up: Andorra
This Sunday, Castellón play FC Andorra with some returns: Maty Orozco, Rodrigo Rego and Amir Saipi. Jeremy Mellot is also back after serving his ban. On the injury list, Fabrizio Brignani is out long-term, Jari Vlak is sidelined with an ankle sprain, and Juanjo Nieto is dealing with a right leg hamstring biceps femoris injury, as the club confirmed this Tuesday. Fran Castillo and Ousmane Camara are doubts, and the attacker’s status is the biggest concern: Pablo Hernández said, “he played with discomfort against Leganés” and therefore wasn’t available for Ceuta.
