Cata Coll out with quad discomfort, will not travel to the USA
The RFEF confirmed her late withdrawal: Cata Coll won’t play the October 10 and 14 friendlies in the United States.
The Spanish federation (RFEF) announced before the women’s national team’s morning training that Cata Coll (FC Barcelona) is withdrawing from the squad for the USA friendlies ahead of the 2027 Women’s World Cup, scheduled for October 10 and 14.
As stated in the official release, the Barça goalkeeper has quad (cuádriceps) discomfort, which even prevented her from taking part in the session. The RFEF said: “On this Tuesday, October 6, the withdrawal of the goalkeeper (…) has been confirmed. She will return to her club in the next few hours and will not travel with the team to Washington.”
Her replacement is Eunate Astralaga (Athletic Club), who has played 22 matches for Spain in youth categories.
