Cathinka Tandberg (Tottenham) craves the derby: “Spurs hate Arsenal”
Tottenham’s forward says Saturday’s North London derby is “for the whole club”, after a rough patch with two straight defeats.
Cathinka Tandberg is looking forward to Saturday’s North London derby at full intensity, insisting it’s not about a normal league result: “It means more than just three points. It’s for the whole club… the whole place.” Speaking to Moving the Goalposts, the Tottenham forward adds what she feels from the stands: “All the Spurs fans hate Arsenal and Arsenal hate Spurs. That’s how it is.”
The 22-year-old joined Tottenham in the summer of 2025 from Hammarby. She marked her early spell with a first-start standout, scoring a spectacular 40-yard goal against Everton. Tandberg believes the step up has changed her physically and tactically, including doing more work away from the box, a comparison she makes to Harry Kane’s evolution.
After finishing fifth last season under Martin Ho and starting strongly this campaign, Tottenham have now suffered back-to-back losses, conceding six goals to London City Lionesses and Chelsea. Tandberg says the group has to respond: “We might need to change our mentality… find that fire and dig deeper against top teams.”
