Celta break their Balaídos slump: 2-1 vs Alavés for a home double

Celta Vigo beat Alavés 2-1 at Balaídos, turning the page on its home woes and linking two LaLiga wins in front of its fans for the first time since January. MARCA reports that Claudio Giráldez’s team celebrated with Ferran Jutglà, who scored his second goal of the season.

Jutglà has a special record against Alavés: last term he found the net twice in Balaídos, but it didn’t bring points for his side. This time he was joined by Javi Rodríguez, who scored his first in the league this campaign after getting a shot in the middle of the game.

The win extends Celta’s six-game unbeaten run in LaLiga, during which they’ve collected two victories and four draws. With 11 points, they move up to seventh. Giráldez rotated three spots from the lineup that lost to Juventus, bringing in Sebastián Cáceres, Hugo Burcio and Driouech, and the squad is now focused on Glasgow.
