Celta host Alavés at Balaídos needing points after Europe
After the Juventus loss, Celta look for relief in LaLiga as they play Alavés, who have gone four games without a win.
Celta take on Alavés this Sunday at Balaídos after falling to Juventus in extra time, with LaLiga now the quickest way to recover. In their recent Europa League round, two defensive mistakes from Marcos Alonso left the Celts with little room for error, and next Thursday they head to Celtic in Glasgow.
The match also comes with pressure on the visiting side. Alavés have not won in four league games and have collected just 1 point from their last 12. Their recent results include a 0-0 draw versus Athletic and three narrow defeats, such as 1-2 at Atlético.
Quick rotation, big needs
Claudio Giráldez’s starting XI is still uncertain since it will be his third game in seven days. For Alavés, Quique Sánchez Flores will be without Ángel Pérez due to suspension, plus long-term absences of Facu Garcés and Mikel Rodríguez. Nahuel Tenaglia could appear on the right, while the defensive spots are open for Valentini, Koski and Otto. Miguel Rodríguez or Pablo Ibáñez are possible options for an important clash, as Mundo Deportivo reports.
