Charles De Ketelaere: “I spoke with PSG, but they chose Ferran Torres”
The Atalanta forward said PSG contacted him this summer, but they ended up signing Ferran Torres and the move never materialized.
Charles De Ketelaere, of Atalanta, revealed he held talks with PSG this summer, even though the French club ultimately went for Ferran Torres. “I spoke with PSG, but they ultimately chose Ferran Torres,” the Belgian said in an interview with DH Les Sports.
He also addressed the asking price for his departure, saying it was close to 50 million euros: “Yeah, I think the figure mentioned was close to that. But you need to find a team willing to pay it. There are several clubs in the Premier League that can do it, but in the end nothing was agreed.” De Ketelaere will stay at the Italian club this season.
The attacker said he is happy in Bergamo and pointed to his time at AC Milan in 2022-23 as a lesson in how crucial it is to get consistent minutes. He also discussed Belgium’s ambitions under Mark van Bommel: “Based on our qualities, we should aim to go far,” he said.
