Claudia Pina is out and Kika Nazareth returns for Pere Romeu’s Barça
Barça Femenino travel to Real Sociedad this Sunday for matchday 7, coming off a 7-0 win over Real Madrid.
Barça Femenino, coached by Pere Romeu, head into matchday 7 with a tricky trip to Real Sociedad this Sunday, missing Claudia Pina and welcoming Kika Nazareth as the main change. The Blaugrana return to league action after the international break and on the back of a historic 7-0 win over Real Madrid at the Spotify Camp Nou.
Pina, who leads the competition with nine goals and scored four of Barça’s seven in the Clasico, injured herself while on Spanish duty in the United States on October 9. Vicky López is also still recovering from a right-hand rectus anterior injury, while Cata Coll and Caroline Graham Hansen were not able to travel due to discomfort.
Return on the pitch
Romeu also gave an update on Kika after she returned to training following her rectus anterior problem from September 23: «Kika makes training with the team. I hope we see her for a few minutes».
Warned by Real’s pressing
Despite Real Sociedad’s position near the bottom (five points and one win), Romeu stressed that it’s «too early to judge their season» and urged Barça to keep a «short memory» after the big Madrid display. He pointed to the hosts’ high pressing and the defensive work of their wide players.
