Córdoba confirm Víctor Sánchez injury issue and target Tenerife return
Córdoba updates on Víctor Sánchez’s muscle trouble after missing Albacete, keeping their hopes set on him being fit for Tenerife.
Córdoba CF has confirmed this Tuesday the muscle discomfort that kept Víctor Sánchez out of their latest match against Albacete, after Sport had already flagged the situation last weekend. The club says the issue is minor and that his progress has been positive so far.
In its medical statement, Córdoba explains that the player “has presented muscle discomfort after the latest training sessions”. After the tests, the forward has started a specific recovery plan and is now working progressively, with the main goal of avoiding any risk of setback or worsening.
Update on the process
This announcement backs up what was already being managed in the week: despite being included in the traveling party and even appearing in the squad list shared by the club, he ultimately didn’t take the trip. The decision was made because he carried a light ailment in the affected area and didn’t complete the final session before travelling.
The team’s update is cautious but encouraging. It states that his “recovery is going well” and that “over the next few days, the response to treatment and preventive work will be assessed”. From there, the schedule points to one concrete goal: being ready for the match against Tenerife.
Before Tenerife, Valladolid first
Before that, Córdoba play Real Valladolid on Sunday 27 September at José Zorrilla. The initial plan is not to push the striker for that game and to use the two-day window to finish his recovery.
If all goes well, the next chance at El Arcángel comes on Monday 5 October, when Córdoba host Tenerife in LaLiga Hypermotion’s matchday eight, as Sport reports.
