Córdoba face Tenerife at El Arcángel to climb out of the drop zone

Kick-off at 20:30: Córdoba enter the match near the bottom after 5 defeats in 7 and 16 goals conceded.

Córdoba CF want to turn the tide and escape the drop zone this Monday against Tenerife at El Arcángel (20:30), following five defeats in seven matches. Iván Ania’s side return home as third from the bottom, sitting on just 6 points from 21, with a key red flag in defence: 16 goals conceded, an average of 2.3 per game in the 2026-2027 season.

The focus is to stop conceding. Córdoba have taken a long time to record an opening-day clean sheet this term, and they’ll aim to extend that progress after the 3-1 defeat at José Zorrilla.

Tenerife arrive with steadier momentum under Álvaro Cervera. The visitors have 11 points and are ninth, coming from a 1-1 draw with Cádiz and a 5-0 loss at Castellón. Up front, Enric Gallego is the standout, with five goals in seven games.

Team news: Tenerife are without Manjam, Babacar, Krdžalić, Jesús Álvarez and Víctor Moreno, while Nacho Gil returns but won’t start. For Córdoba, Diarra is also missing, forcing Eder García back into the starting XI, alongside Isma Ruiz and Adnane Ghailan in midfield; Guilherme Fernandes keeps his place in goal.
