Cristian Romero and Lisandro Martínez trade jokes at the Metropolitano

In Atlético vs Manchester United in the Champions League, ‘Cuti’ Romero and Lisandro Martínez sparked a playful feud with shove-filled moments and banter after the match.

The Metropolitano saw the banter between Cristian Romero (Atlético Madrid) and Lisandro Martínez (Manchester United) during Atlético Madrid’s UEFA Champions League match against Manchester United on Tuesday, 13 October.

As Mundo Deportivo notes, the most discussed moment came from a corner kick for the visitors. Lisandro Martínez pushed Romero hard to win the header, and the clash of bodies continued with more shoves throughout the set-piece phases.

There was more: during protests to the Swedish referee, both were at the centre of the heated exchanges. After the final whistle, Romero—flanked by Julián Álvarez and Giuliano Simeone—walked over to a clearly frustrated Lisandro Martínez following the ‘Red Devils’ loss. It ended with the two sharing a hand clink while the rest of the Argentina internationals laughed.
