Atlético are assessing a muscular thigh issue for Cuti Romero after he was taken off at 67’; his Champions trip to Stuttgart is uncertain.
Cristian Romero (Cuti Romero), Atlético de Madrid, was substituted in the 67th minute of the match against Espanyol due to muscular discomfort in his thigh. In his press conference, Cholo justified the change: “Mendoza came on to give the message to go for the game.”
Romero stayed with the club’s medical staff for tests in the thigh to determine the injury’s extent. Over the next few hours, Atlético will decide whether he travels to Germany for the Champions League game vs Stuttgart, or remains in Madrid to recover.
