Dani Carvajal deal closed with Getafe: presentation after Conference League

Getafe has an agreement closed for Dani Carvajal, with only paperwork left to be completed before making it official, as president Ángel Torres tells MARCA. The right-back had already passed his medical and was due to sign until the end of the season, but things stalled when Getafe tried to register him with LaLiga and ran into a lack of room under the wage limit.

The LaLiga clearance

Torres presented an official guarantee to LaLiga to secure financial space for this window. With that hurdle cleared, Getafe’s plan is to present Carvajal after next Thursday’s Conference League game vs Universitatea Craiova.

After sealing Carvajal, Getafe turns to its next target: Dani Parejo. The 37-year-old midfielder is currently without a club after finishing last season with Villarreal, and contacts have already taken place with the blue-and-white side where he played from 2009 to 2011. Getafe is also continuing to explore another free agent to give José Bordalás more options for a season across three competitions.
