Dani Carvajal joins Getafe after Real Madrid contract expires
The former Real Madrid captain joins as a free agent, signing through June 2027 with Getafe (11th in LaLiga).
Dani Carvajal has joined Getafe as a free agent after his contract at the Bernabéu expired last June, BBC Sport reports. The 34-year-old has been without a club since then.
The Madrid-born right-back spent 23 years at Real Madrid and has 27 trophies to his name, including six Champions League titles. He also featured 51 times for Spain, winning the Nations League in 2023 and the European Championship in 2024.
Deal runs to June next year
Carvajal has signed through June 2027. Injuries have been a factor in recent seasons, with a cruciate ligament tear in October 2024 followed by another serious knee problem a year later. His final year at Real Madrid was further affected by the arrival of Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Getafe said it welcomes his “experience and leadership”.
