Dani Carvajal returns: 149 days later starts for Getafe vs Rayo
The full-back makes his return 149 days after his last match, debuting for Getafe as they face Rayo.
Dani Carvajal, Getafe full-back, makes his return 149 days later as a starter in the match against Rayo. Bordalás throws him straight into the starting XI despite the fact he hadn’t played competitively since May 23, his last appearance with Real Madrid, when he started at the Santiago Bernabéu vs Athletic and provided an assist in the 84th minute.
As reported by MARCA, the coach backed him after a short run of training sessions. In the build-up, Bordalás said: “Dani comes working phenomenal. He’s ready like the rest of the team.”
After failing to renew with Real Madrid, Carvajal was without a club until October 13, when Getafe made his signing official. He signed for one season and, after training with the squad the week before, goes straight to the eleven. The defense includes Valou and Mojica, with Enes Ünal also back after two matches left out of the squad list. The full XI: David Soria; Carvajal, Djené, Valou, Mojica; Kiko Femenía, Gudelj, Mario Martín, Terrats; Satriano and Enes Ünal.
