David Mella (Deportivo) backs Yeremay through pubis injury

Mella says he’s at 99% physically and believes Yeremay is “fully fit” after weeks of work.

David Mella, of Deportivo La Coruña, says he is nearly at 99% fitness, moving “without pain” in his knee and needing only a bit more match rhythm. He also spoke about how he’s been supporting Yeremay, whose pubis injury he shares in the recovery process.

As MARCA reports, Mella explained that he stays close to the Canary in travel and tries to help him find calm, insisting it’s not an injury that clears up “from one day to the next”. In his view, with gym work and mental support from a psychologist, Yeremay has been “at one hundred percent for weeks”.

Mella added that he misses playing on his natural left wing, where he spent years in the youth teams and with Spain’s Under-19s. He doesn’t like the idea of becoming a left-back, but says if he’s used at right-back or left, he’ll embrace the role and give his best.
