David Soria: “I think it’s going to happen” with Carvajal to Getafe
The Getafe captain spoke on El Larguero about a deal held up by LaLiga’s economic validation and salary limits.
David Soria, Getafe’s goalkeeper, said he believes Dani Carvajal will end up joining the club, telling El Larguero: “I think it’s going to happen.” Although the full-back is not yet a Getafe player, Soria insisted the dressing room is ready for his arrival and added: “We’d be delighted.”
The captain argued that Getafe needs extra bodies for the particularly demanding months ahead, with LaLiga and Europe on the schedule. He also underlined what Carvajal would bring: “A signing like Carvajal, with all the experience… would be a top-level reinforcement.”
Behind the scenes, though, the transfer remains stuck for financial reasons. Carvajal has already passed the medical, but LaLiga has activated its Validation Body to check whether the Getafe wage proposal fits market parameters and its financial control rules. That’s why Soria joked about the president’s negotiating room: “Let’s see if the president comes up with something and we can reach an agreement.”
