Davinson Sánchez and Osimhen: Galatasaray rests them for the Barça game

Davinson Sánchez and Victor Osimhen set the agenda for Galatasaray as they take on Kasimpasa today at the RAMS Park, looking ahead to Tuesday’s 21:00 visit from Barça in Istanbul in the UCL group phase’s second matchday.

Okan Buruk’s approach is to manage workload after the 3-1 defeat in Lisbon to Sporting on their European opener, and despite the 4-0 setback versus Trabzonspor in the sixth league round. In domestic competition, the team sits second with the same 13 points as league leaders Amed SK.

Because of international fatigue, Buruk plans a rotation: Sánchez is expected to rest even though he wants to play, and Lucas Torreira is also out. Lesley Ugochukwu misses out after being sent off in Trabzon.

Osimhen is also a concern. The club’s medical staff explained the forward suffered a bleeding in a muscle group that has been drained, adding that “although the treatment is going very well and he is much better, we’ll see.” The match versus Kasimpasa will be led by Ismael García since Buruk is suspended.
