Désiré Doué and Ousmane Dembélé lead PSG to a 4-1 win at City
PSG beat Manchester City 4-1 at the Etihad with a Doué goal and Dembélé double before halftime.
PSG beat Manchester City 4-1 at the Etihad as Désiré Doué and Ousmane Dembélé starred in a Champions League night shaped by Pep Guardiola’s return to the ground.
The Guardian reports Guardiola was in the stands for the first time since leaving and City’s reply didn’t arrive early: Doué scored first after Fabian Ruiz’s final pass found him on the left, cutting inside to fire low into the near corner. Seventy-five seconds later Dembélé doubled the lead, converting a move that started with Dembélé pushing the ball to Doué before he ran in behind Marc Guéhi. PSG made it 3-0 at the interval with Vitinha, and Haaland pulled one back after the break.
PSG’s punch ends City’s comeback
City’s dream of an astonishing fightback died when Maghnes Akliouche made it 4-1, with Gianluigi Donnarumma involved in a messy moment after the ball was palmed away and fell into the net. In the closing stages, City kept pushing, and Ferran Torres missed late from the penalty spot, but PSG held on.
