Diego Llorente returns to full training with Real Betis

Real Betis resumed training and Diego Llorente is back with the squad after muscular discomfort; Aitor Ruibal and Marc Bartra are the main updates.

Real Betis returned to training this Wednesday after two days off for the first team, as Mundo Deportivo reports. Manager Manuel Pellegrini’s staff used the break to complete the final stages of the Camino de Santiago, fulfilling the promise they made after securing Champions League qualification.

Llorente back as normal

Diego Llorente—who missed the last two matches due to muscular discomfort—has rejoined the group and trained normally, according to Mundo Deportivo. He had already been sidelined in the two previous games because of a fractured nose bone.

The only other absences with injury-related context were Aitor Ruibal, continuing his recovery and potentially returning during the coming international break weeks, and Marc Bartra, who does not have an injury after requesting the substitution in the game against Dépor and will work specifically during these days.

International duty continues

Seven Betis players were not present because they’re with their national teams: Abde, Fidalgo, Valentín Gómez, Ortiz, Parrott, Junior and Facundo Bernal. Lo Celso, meanwhile, will keep training with the squad this week and then travel to Argentina to take part in the farewell friendly for Leo Messi, adds Mundo Deportivo.

Finally, the paper notes that Rodrigo Marina was the only academy player involved in Wednesday’s session at Ciudad Deportiva Luis del Sol. “This squad is much better,” says Jordi Santamaría.
