Diego López back to the operating room: Madrid arthroscopy and possible January return
Valencia’s attacker, repaired after a ruptured ACL four months ago, undergoes a second arthroscopy with a view to returning after January.
Diego López (Valencia) has gone under the knife again, this time for an arthroscopy in Madrid, four months after surgery for a ruptured ACL. As reported by MARCA, the second procedure was needed due to adhesions and aims to be much less invasive, to “clean up” the area and help restore the joint’s mobility.
The operation was carried out under the planning of doctor Giner, the new head of the medical services, with the goal of removing tissue created after the first surgery. If everything goes as expected, the attacker could return to the pitch after January without the recovery timeline being pushed back too much.
At Valencia, the end of the international break has brought good news in the treatment room: Aguirre has two central defenders back. Tárrega and Diakhaby are available, while Copete—who has started training with the group—needs a bit more time.
