Diego Murillo returns to training with Málaga after injury
The centre-back trained partially with the group and still needs a few weeks to get match-ready.
Málaga centre-back Diego Murillo returned to training this Thursday after the injury he has been dealing with since the end of last season. As Mundo Deportivo reports, he worked partially with the group, ending a long recovery that began after a decisive play-off against Almería, when Juanfran Funes’ side secured promotion to LaLiga EA Sports.
Murillo is now in the final stage of his recovery from a problem involving the internal lateral ligament and the meniscus of his knee. Still, he’ll be unavailable for a few more weeks before he can be put at Juanfran Funes’ disposal, needing time to regain match fitness, earn his competitive clearance and rebuild confidence in his play.
Ahead of the match, Málaga travel to Mendizorroza this Friday to face Alavés at 21:00, with Juan Cruz, Lobete and Ochoa still sidelined.
