Djené close to LaLiga’s all-time top 10 sendings-off list
His red in Getafe-Rayo (1-1) takes Djené to 11 this season: just 2 away from the LaLiga historical top 10.
Djené Dakonam, Getafe’s central defender, was sent off in the 28th minute of the match that closed LaLiga EA Sports matchday 9 between Getafe and Rayo Vallecano (1-1). He was already booked for a handball from the 16th minute and then mistimed a challenge on Álvaro García, catching the Rayo winger as the last man: a straight red despite the Getafe player’s complaints.
That first dismissal of the campaign leaves Djené on 11 reds in LaLiga with Getafe (12 including a Copa del Rey red in 2018-19). He is now two away from entering the all-time top 10. Sergio Ramos leads the ranking with 21 expulsions.
