Edgar González misses Sabadell vs Burgos due to suspension
The Sabadell centre-back serves a one-game ban after a second yellow/red at Ceuta, leaving the defence line up uncertain.
Edgar González is suspended and will not play this Sunday for Sabadell against Burgos after receiving a second yellow card in the second half of the match versus AD Ceuta FC.
The absence throws up the question of who will step into his spot in the starting XI. Edgar has been available for every LaLiga game this season except the trip to Almería, where he could not feature due to the well-known ‘fear clause’ because he is on loan from the Andalusian club. José Luis Catalá covered for him in that fixture and has also operated as a defensive utility player: four starts and five appearances off the bench.
Speaking in a press conference, Catalá said: “Estoy preparado para lo que sea, para cuando el míster me ponga, darlo todo, y dar el máximo siempre.”
With Bonaldo back after almost a month out and returning to the starting line-up at Ceuta, the defence could pair Catalá and Bonaldo as centre-backs, with Miki Codina and Óscar Sanz on the flanks.
