Edin Terzic hits 100 days at Athletic without a full analysis yet

Athletic clock 100 days of work, but postponed games vs Levante and Rayo disrupt consistency. This Saturday they play at Valencia.

Edin Terzic has reached 100 days of work with Athletic Club, but the club still can’t carry out a proper, deeper analysis because postponements have cut the team’s competitive rhythm. As MARCA reports, the matches against Levante and Rayo Vallecano, both away, have kept Athletic from building continuity.

The German coach, tied to the club until 2028, has overseen six official games: 2 wins, 2 draws and 2 losses. His start was also affected early by the league’s delayed start to give internationals extra rest, then further problems came from Levante — with torrential rain — and from Rayo, when the match was suspended after balls made of rubber were thrown onto the pitch.

Training without a clear pattern

Terzic’s intent is to give the team very defined tools for building play from the back and to adapt its defensive positioning to each opponent, but with more training time than actual match minutes. The main drawback is how the side has struggled against rivals that don’t mind conceding space.

Athletic haven’t played since their goalless draw at Alavés on September 19. This Saturday they travel to Valencia to face a side that began life under their new coach with a 2-2 draw at Santander, including a clear chance to win in the last action.
