Edu Palomares ‘Tomaca’ returns as UE Tavernes coach
Back just 24 hours after Carlos Sapiña’s sacking: he’ll be on the Mestalla bench on Oct 28 vs Valencia in the Copa del Rey.
UE Tavernes confirmed this Tuesday the return of Edu Palomares ‘Tomaca’ as head coach, just 24 hours after the club dismissed Carlos Sapiña. He will take charge on the bench at Mestalla on Wednesday, October 28, for the Copa del Rey first round against Valencia.
The change comes after a tough start in the Lliga Comunitat FFCV: Tavernes have collected only three points from their first seven league matches, leaving them bottom of the table. In the cup, the team had qualified by beating UD Maracena.
Palomares returns to a place he knows well: he led the club for three seasons and won La Nostra Copa against CD Onda before leaving last June. The club’s welcome message highlighted his link with the dressing room and surroundings.
