Elche now has more away points than all of last season
After a 3-0 win at Vallecas, Elche climb out of the relegation zone for the first time since August and have already passed last season's away points total.
Elche climb out of the relegation zone for the first time since August after a 3-0 win at Rayo Vallecano. According to MARCA, it is their second win of the season, with three clean sheets in a row and four games unbeaten. Away from home, Martín Anselmi's side already have nine points from six trips, compared with eight points from 19 games on the road under Eder Sarabia last season.
The picture is different at home: they have taken just one point from a possible twelve at the Martínez Valero, the draw with Celta. Nine of their ten points overall have come away from home.
Now they must improve at home. They host Valencia in a direct relegation battle, and before that they play Pinatar in the first round of the Copa del Rey, in Murcia.
