Enric Gallego warns Córdoba: five goals and a visit to El Arcángel

On Monday, Córdoba CF will face Enric Gallego (Tenerife) at the Bahrain Victorious Nuevo Arcángel, after the striker set the pace in the Liga Hypermotion with five goals in seven matches. The 40-year-old Barcelona-born forward has already scored in this stadium before: on 3 November 2018, with Extremadura, he netted in a match that ended 4-2 against them after going 1-2 down early.

Gallego arrives as Tenerife’s main scoring reference. His goals have contributed to at least five of the club’s 11 points, and he has accounted for 62.5% of Tenerife’s total goal output this season. He also leads shots on target with 18, level with Ousmane Camara (Castellón), who has played about an hour more.

Defensively, Córdoba is facing a difficult test: it is the second-highest conceding side in the competition. Gallego’s impact goes beyond finishing—he leads aerial duels and is the player who draws the most fouls (21), nine more than Córdoba’s Percan (12), a potential headache for the hosts’ build-up.
