Enzo Fernández shoves the referee in City-PSG (2-4) incident
In the Champions League clash ending 2-4, Manchester City’s Enzo Fernández shoved referee Sven Jablonski; Maresca called it a “strange match”.
Enzo Fernández of Manchester City shoved referee Sven Jablonski during Wednesday’s Champions League match against PSG, which finished 2-4.
The episode happened when Fernández found himself in a good position near the box after a layoff from Abdukodir Khusanov, but the German referee didn’t move out of the way. Unable to take the shot, the World Cup winner pushed the referee hard with both hands from behind, and Jablonski ended up on the ground.
No sanction was shown to the Argentine international, who completed the game without further issues. Afterward, Enzo Maresca said: “C’était un match étrange… Deux buts encaissés en deux minutes nous ont posé problème”, explaining that the team improved after the break.
