Eric Di Meco worried as Marseille head to Troyes after five straight losses
Di Meco says Olympique de Marseille must win at Troyes (20:45): they’re 17th and on five-game losing streak.
Eric Di Meco, a former Olympique de Marseille left-back, admitted he feels “inquiet” ahead of the trip to Troyes this Sunday night (20:45). Marseille are 17th in Ligue 1 after five straight defeats across all competitions, and the match arrives with pressure already piling up.
The stakes in Troyes
Di Meco referenced the latest setback in the derby against Paris Saint-Germain, which finished 1-2. After the international break, he also highlighted the injury disruption: “Hojbjerg is already ruled out.” The former player added that some others are due back, but doubts remain over whether they’ll be at 100%.
“They practically must win”
Looking at the opponent, he argues Troyes is one of the weaker teams in the next run of games because they are only one point ahead. Still, he believes Marseille won’t have full strength, and said the consequence is clear: “Marseille are practically forced to win.”
